Yep...still sick

i have officially lost a total of 11.5 pounds. awesome. this has got to be the worst way to lose weight. i am trying so hard to keep it all in perspective but seriously...super hard! and i hope you all know that i am very very grateful for this wonderful blessing! so many woman are not as blessed as i to be able to get pregnant so fast or at all. apparently mick and i get pregnant just thinking about it. i don't know what happened with kenny. we definitely were not thinking about getting pregnant and it still happened. he obviously wasn't going to wait for us to be ready. haha! anyways. i will most likely be on the d.l. for the month. i will try to post as often as my vomiting will let me.

  4. Oh dear, I am so sorry. I am 17 weeks and just now starting to feel okay, but I never lost more than two lbs. Hopefully this ends for you right at 12 weeks.

  5. I know I don't know you (I followed a link to your blog from Elemental Carbon), and, naturally, I don't know anything about your pregnancy...but when I was pregnant with my fist child I also experienced extreme morning sickness and ended up losing 30 lbs in the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy. I was throwing up every 15-20 mins and couldn't really keep anything down, even water. I quickly became very weak and I wasn't able to get out of bed. I went to the hospital several times and they always sent me home after sedating me and prescribing anti-nausea medication, simply telling me that it was just morning sickness and looking at me like I was a weenie. The fourth time I went to the hospital they ran some tests and discovered that my potassium and electrolytes were so low that my heart wasn't even functioning correctly. They ended up keeping me overnight and waking me every half hour just to make sure I was still alive. I was pumped full of intravenous nutrition and diagnosed with a condition called Hyperemesis Graviderum, which is basically extreme morning sickness that has no apparent cause and can be life-threatening in some cases (like mine). I had to have a pic line inserted in my arm delivering anti-nausea medication every twenty minutes that I carried around until I was about 26 weeks pregnant, and once I had that constant stream that I couldn't accidentally vomit out, I began to get better and eventually had a totally normal, healthy pregnancy. This was with my daughter in '07/'08 (my second pregnancy, with my son, was normal). I don't know if your experience is anything like this, but if it is, you should bring the condition up with your OBGYN and see if you have it. It's definitely for the best that if this is whats going on you catch it quickly before it leads to scarier complications. I'm very sorry that you're so ill and I truly hope that it gets better quickly.
    Wishing you the best,
    Seantae
